NATIONAL SERVICE SECHEME
National Service Scheme (NSS) is an extra curricular voluntary programme for college students (under graduates), under the ministry of youth affairs and sports, Government of India and State Government. The programme is based on the theme of Indian philosophy and Gandhian Ideology with concept of "Vasudev Kutumbkam" and ideal "not myself but we", has become the indispensable to the disciplinary the students of D.N. (P.G.) College. Besides normal activities and special camping programmes, (10 days) college unit has actively participated time to time in special programmes like National Integration Camp, Pulse Polio Programmes, AIDS Programmes, Water Conservation and Rain Water Harvesting devices Programmes, Cleaness drive, Literacy Programme, Communal hormony week, Vijay Dewas, Meerut city Railway Station cleanness drive programmes, Harizan basti camping (Jamania Bag), Kargil Diwas, Petriotism, Environmental Awareness Programmes, Pollution Awareness Programmes, Control and limited use of Plastic and Polythene, Plantations etc. Honarary Secreratry of college management and Jila Panachayat Chairman Seth. D.N. Gupta Ji, Principal Dr. P.C. Pachauri, Dr. V.K. Agarwal and Dr. H. Kumar (Present) have always affectionately patronised and encouraged the programme co-ordinator Dr. A.K. Shukla to streamline NSS activities programmes.
NSS programmes have been widely popularized, published, televised and launched by students three years of duration, CCS University had sanctioned one unit of 100 students to the college and due to the popularity among students enrolement of students have been made by the mode of selection process. NGO like Janhit foundation, Government deptt. (health, forest, pollution, control board, planning, police, banking, information and railways) have been actively associated with the social activities of NSS volunteer's.
Two one day camp were organized on the social aspects of pulse polio programmes, AIDS day programme. Moreover two days cleanness
One student was selected for republic day's parade in 2004.
One student participated in national Integration Camp in CCS University, Meerut in 2004.
Blood Donation Camp is being organized in college premises in the second week of Dec. 2004. In which about 50 college students are expected to donate blood.
